Young Anderson, PhD

Young Anderson, PhD

Director, R&D Biology

Dr. Anderson graduated from Purdue University with a Ph.D. degree in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy. Her doctoral research focused on mechanisms of environmental chemical carcinogenesis and cancer chemoprevention.

Young pursued her interest in biomedical research at American Health Foundation, a cancer research institute in NY, for several years prior to assuming an industrial position in late 1990s. At Pfizer in Michigan, she led a preclinical lab that provided in vitro, pharmacokinetic, and metabolism studies critical for development and global registration of pharmaceuticals. Young also oversaw studies that were conducted at contract research labs and her responsibilities included planning, designing, coordinating, and monitoring of various animal studies for pharmaceutical development.

Young joined Actives International in 2005 and heads up the Biology Group. Young’s lab develops and performs various in vitro assays in support of product development and marketing. Young also conducts external in vitro and clinical studies designed to ensure safety and efficacy of our products. She works closely with the R&D groups of partner companies to continue to develop new products and to expand the scientific basis of the existing products.
