The two boswellic acids in ViaPure® Boswellia are highly-refined from an Ayurvedic tree resin. ViaPure® Boswellia is a potent inhibitor of elastase and has powerful anti-GAGase activity, making it an excellent ingredient to use in products designed to maintain firm, youthful skin. This recommendation is supported by the results of a clinical trial in which panelists’ skin was 15% more elastic after 28 days.
ViaPure® Boswellia is also recommended in products designed for chronically inflamed or sensitive skin. It effectively inhibits 5-lipoxygenase, an enzyme responsible for the production of inflammatory mediators in the Arachidonic Acid Cascade, and prevents the release of pro-inflammatory Leukotriene B4 from neutrophils. Clinical studies support the anti-inflammatory effect of ViaPure® Boswellia on panelists.
ViaPure® Boswellia promotes a healthy stratum corneum and improved barrier function by modulating the activity of cathepsin D, a skin enzyme responsible for desquamation.
